Brenda MacKneson graduated from the School of Architecture at the University of Toronto in 1984 and began her career in London, England. During her apprenticeship with accomplished architects and interior designers she learned the significance of proportion, light and materials whether designing within an historic space or creating a new building.

Notably, the breadth of projects included a Grade 1 listed 14thc Gatehouse on Salisbury Cathedral Close to working with internationally celebrated architect Zaha Hadid on buildings in Tokyo, Japan.

In 1993, as a British registered architect Brenda brought her knowledge back to Toronto and founded MacKneson Design Inc.
